Also involves some exposure to risk of injury from moving, lifting, or positioning patients, equipment, or materials, and exposure to loud noises, blood-borne or airborne pathogens, and combative/violent people.ShiftMust be able to work three 12.5-hour shifts per week; shifts may include days, evenings, or nights. Will also be required to work weekends and holidays.Job SummaryThe Emergency Department Access Associate provides essential clerical and communication support to ensure efficient patient flow and coordination within the Emergency Department. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate documentation and facilitating timely communication between patients, nursing staff, providers, and outside facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and organize patient charts and records accurately.
- Answer call lights and promptly notify nursing staff of patient needs.
- Contact outside hospitals and facilities to obtain medical records and relay critical information.
- Communicate effectively with the Charge Nurse and Team Leader to support timely notifications to medical teams.
- Assist in clerical functions to support patient care and departmental operations.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior healthcare or clerical experience preferred.
