Description
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Community Medicine, South Metro has an opening for a full-time Instructor or above for a generalist providing clinical care in both obstetrics and gynecology, including inpatient and outpatient services and surgery, as a member of South Metro Obstetrics and Gynecology. This position will share service coverage with other members of the Practice, including night and weekend call. Position includes primarily clinical duties but also has some responsibilities for teaching medical residents or students.

Key Responsibilities:
Accurate and efficient documentation in EPIC system
Independently perform history and physical examinations
Reviewing medical records to determine if appropriate for clinic
Requesting outside diagnostic tests and pathology/cytology as needed
Ordering and interpretation of labs or diagnostic tests needed prior to multidisciplinary review
Prescribing medications as needed, including pre-procedure medications.
Conducting peer to peer review or writing medical necessity letters with insurance companies for pre-authorization of tests as appropriate
Speaking with referring physicians regarding patient referrals
Sending patient letters to referring physicians using EPIC system
Independently seeing patients in follow up as needed
Collaboration with team members to finalize patient plans and assist with ordering tests and referrals as needed
Contacting referring physicians/PCP for any other medical issues that may have been discovered or referring patient to appropriate specialty/provider as needed
Facilitating staff, patient and family decision making by providing educational tools
Providing patients with hospital resources as needed
Tracking patient outcomes/data
Compliance with hospital protocols/standards.
Attending departmental meetings on a regular basis
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Instructor, Senior Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:
Instructor:
Board certified or eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology
Must hold a Colorado medical license or be eligible for licensure in Colorado
Sr. Instructor:
Board certified or eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology
Must hold a Colorado medical license or be eligible for licensure in Colorado
5 years of clinical experience in Obstetrics and Gynecology
Preferred Qualifications:
Instructor:
2 years of clinical experience in Obstetrics and Gynecology
Sr Instructor:
7 years of clinical experience in Obstetrics and Gynecology
