Nelson Mullins, an AmLaw 60 firm, is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys in our Huntington office. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative, fast-paced team that handles complex litigation matters.
A Day in the Life
The ideal candidate will have litigation experience in a law firm, including hands-on involvement in case preparation from start to finish and a solid understanding of a paralegal’s role throughout the full litigation life cycle. Trial experience is preferred and considered a strong asset.
This individual will manage and monitor court deadlines, taking full ownership of case calendars; electronically file documents in both federal and state courts under attorney supervision; and prepare drafts of pleadings, discovery responses, notices, and motions. They will also take responsibility for requesting and summarizing medical records and preparing clear, well-organized medical chronologies for attorney review.

The ideal candidate for this position possesses strong organizational skills along with well-developed critical thinking abilities. They are detail-oriented, producing neat and accurate work product, while maintaining the agility to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities. This individual resolves issues proactively, communicates effectively, and knows how to be a true team player who contributes to a collaborative, high-performing environment.
A 2- or 4-year degree and a paralegal certificate are preferred; however, relevant work experience may be substituted for formal education. Flexibility to work overtime as needed to meet business needs is required.
