Onsite, M-F, 8-4:30 (hours somewhat flexible)

We are adding to the team and seeking an exceptional operational leader to serve as our Vice President of Operations, providing strategic guidance, hands-on support, and system-wide leadership across our Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs) and service lines. As a key member of the executive team, this leader drives high-quality service delivery, operational consistency, financial performance, and community culture—ensuring that every resident and team member experiences the very best of who we are.
About the Role
The Vice President of Operations oversees the day-to-day operations of six CCRCs, memory care programs, and the organization’s home care service line. This role provides direct guidance to Executive Directors, regularly visits communities to evaluate performance and culture, and ensures alignment with organizational philosophy, standards, policies, and approved budgets. This is a highly visible, relationship-centered leadership position that partners closely with the Chief Operating Officer and plays a significant part in shaping organizational excellence.
What You’ll Do
Strategic & Organizational Leadership
Lead community operations aligned with mission, values, and strategic priorities.
Partner with the COO and executive leaders on organization-wide strategy.
Model the “We Care” culture and promote collaboration and service excellence.
Drive system-wide initiatives to strengthen quality, financial sustainability, and innovation.
Multi-Site Operational Oversight
Oversee daily operations of assigned CCRCs and service lines.
Conduct regular site visits to evaluate performance, culture, and resident experience.
Advise Executive Directors and support teams with operational and administrative needs.
Serve temporarily as Executive Director when required to ensure continuity.
Quality, Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure communities maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Support continuous survey readiness and productive response to inspection findings.
Uphold resident rights, safety, and consistent high-quality care.
Financial Stewardship
Monitor financial performance and ensure adherence to budget goals.
Review financial reports, identify trends, and implement corrective actions.
Evaluate departmental and program cost-effectiveness.
Support annual budget development and long-range financial planning.
People & Culture Development
Foster a mission-driven culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and service.
Mentor and coach Executive Directors and emerging leaders.
Partner with HR on workforce engagement, recruitment, and retention strategies.
Encourage open communication and a shared sense of purpose across communities.
Innovation & Operational Excellence
Identify process improvements and technology solutions to enhance operations.
Support the rollout of new programs and services that enrich resident life.
Lead or participate in special projects and system-wide initiatives.
External Relations & Advocacy
Represent the organization with professionalism in all internal and external interactions.
Build strong partnerships with senior living associations and advocacy groups.
Supervisory Responsibilities
The Vice President of Operations provides direct supervision to Executive Directors and assigned operational support staff, with indirect oversight of community department leaders across all service lines.

Requirements
What You Bring
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare management, or related field (Master’s preferred).
10+ years of progressive leadership in senior living, healthcare operations, or related environment.
Proven track record of leading teams, managing budgets, and driving operational excellence.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Deep understanding of CCRC operations, regulations, and best practices.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and performance evaluation abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities with independence and strategic focus.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Readiness to travel regularly to assigned communities.
