Description
This full-time, on-site Associate Attorney role is based in Dallas, TX. The Associate Attorney will assist in all phases of healthcare-related litigation, including case assessment, legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery responses, and preparing summaries of medical records and expert reports. The role involves attending and taking depositions, participating in hearings and mediations, and supporting trial preparation and trial activities as needed. The attorney will communicate regularly with clients, insurers, experts, and opposing counsel, while helping develop effective case strategies and ensuring timely, high-quality work product. The position offers the opportunity to build subject matter expertise in medical malpractice defense and licensing board matters within a collaborative team environment.
Requirements
* Strong foundation in Law, with the ability to analyze complex statutes, regulations, and case law relevant to healthcare and medical malpractice.
* Experience or demonstrated interest in Labor and Employment Law and related issues impacting healthcare providers is beneficial.
* Ability to provide clear, practical Legal Advice to clients, insurers, and internal stakeholders in a professional, client-centered manner.
* Proficiency in legal Research, including use of legal databases, case analysis, and preparation of research memoranda to support litigation strategy.
* Effective Negotiation skills, particularly in the context of settlement discussions, mediations, and interactions with opposing counsel.
* J.D. from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in Texas (or eligibility for prompt admission).
* Strong written and oral advocacy skills, including drafting pleadings, motions, and correspondence, and presenting arguments in court.
* Ability to manage multiple matters, meet deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively with litigation teams.
* Prior healthcare, medical malpractice, or insurance defense experience is preferred but candidates with strong litigation training will be considered.
